May was born in 1973 and grew up on an island in the North Sea.
Since she got her first crayon, she has a master’s degree in visual communication and has worked with various art forms, both print and digital.
She has been a “poet” since that great crayon and made up stories in her head, not having her feet planted on the ground longer than she had to in order not to get institutionalised. What seemed like ordinary happenings to others were fairy tales in her head, but it was not until 2007 that her interest in writing escalated. After years of roleplaying, learning to write English with unbridled enthusiasm, she had written books the size of the Necronomicon already, only in fanfic and collaborative text within copyrighted universes. It was time to make something of her own, and based on a couple of original characters she had created already, she built a whole new universe that took up most of her time for a decade.

Topia is the unsaid name of the universe, and it’s a grimdark anthology where each book can stand alone. It started with a simple tale about two characters, but then May added one more to stir things up, and because of that, three more popped up, and from that point on, things escalated because May loved all her little darlings and their fascinating stories.

For her master in visual communication(Fairy tales in a multimedia age), she made her dreams come true by making four simple point&click adventure games inspired by a retro ’80-’90s style(already retro in 1999). Her interest in video games never ended. Even though her career took a bizarre turn towards web design, broadcast entertainment, and motion graphics, she also decided to recreate Topia in a video game universe using Unreal Engine, an ongoing experiment while writing it.
